Day 1: Travel from Kampala to Bwindi National park
In the morning, set of for a scenic drive southwestward to Bwindi impenetrable national park. Stop over in Mbarara for an early lunch before continuing to Bwindi, passing via the “Switzerland of Africa” that is Kabale You will check in Buhoma community bandas/ Gorilla safari lodge for dinner and overnight.
Day 2 Gorilla tracking Adventure.
In the morning, move to the park headquarters for briefing from the park rangers, before heading for the adventurous activity of tracking the amazing animals. The trails will take you through thick forest with steep and slippery floor, so get ready to get dirty. The tracking may take 2-6 hours depending on the movement of the Gorillas in their natural environment. One hour will be allowed with the animals as you take photos and ask questions you need to know.
Then descend to your lodge for relaxation. In the evening, you may go for community walk, where you will visit the Batwa community who will give you lots of entertainment, and you get to learn more about the unique behavior of these “Short People”. Dinner and overnight stay.
Day 3 Travel from Bwindi – Queen Elizabeth National Park.
After your breakfast, you will set off for Queen Elizabeth national park, passing via Ishasha, dominated by acacia trees, where you will have a game drive and spot tree climbing lions and a variety of bird species. Continue to Queen Elizabeth national park and check in at Mweya safari lodge/Jacana safari lodge for dinner and overnight.
Day 4: Game Drive and Launch cruise.
In the morning, rise early enough to go for morning game drive. You will be able to see predators such as lions, hyenas, leopard, bush bucks and many more before they return to their hideouts. Relax at the lodge and after your lunch, you will go for boat cruise on the Kazinga channel where you will be able to enjoy a scenic view of the park with view of animals like elephants, buffalos, hippos, antelopes and much more. Also, for bird watchers, you will not miss the opportunity to see a variety of bird species like the black bee eater, the heron, kingfisher, falcons, eagles and much more. Dinner and overnight stay.
Day 5 Travel from Queen Elizabeth National Park - Kampala
Early morning, you may drive to Kyambura gorge for primate tracking, where you will see chimpanzees, colobus monkeys and other primates. Then embark on the journey to Kampala with enroute stopovers at the equator for photography and buying African craft. Dinner and overnight in Kampala.
