In 1994, thousands of people lost their lives in Rwanda due to a civil war between the “Tutsi” and “Hutu” people in the country. Besides the already existing genocide memorials in Kigali the capital city, another plan has come up with the idea of putting up a genocide memorial in Ruhango district Kinazi region and this is estimated to cost about 500 Millions RWF. Jolie Germaine, the Vice Mayor of Ruhango district who is also in charge of social welfare confirmed this development at a celebration where Rwanda MTN team had gathered to pay tribute to the 1994 genocide where about 60,000 lives were shattered down. The construction will be based on screening bids so successful contractors will be announced in May 2012. This will depend on the financial capabilities of highest bidders hence taking the contract. During the celebration, the giant telecom service provider (MTN) managed to take a tour to Rutabo Primary school and they got the opportunity to interact with Mr. François Hitimana who is among the 1994 genocide survivors and he was able to narrate a story about the want went on during this Rwanda genocide as the Tutsi were being killed and dragged in pits with few people surviving during this Genocide. At Rutabo School there is a pit where about 60,000 bodies were dumped after their massacre and this pit was dug before the genocide.

Africa Adventure Safaris provides tours basing on the interests and demands of it’s clients and a wide number of tourists suggest to visit the genocide museum in accompaniment to other tourist activities such as Rwanda Gorilla Tour, Wildlife viewing, bird watching, mountaineering, primate tracking among others. This therefore justifies the statement that tourism activities contribute the highest revenue towards the Rwandanese economy.

East Africais gifted with a variety of flora and fauna. This has called for numerous tourism activities depending on the client. Some prefer Uganda tours, Rwanda tours, Kenya tours, Tanzania tours or Congo tours. There are striking forests such as Bwindi Impenetrable, Nyungwe, among others. Besides vegetation, water bodies and wildlife are the major pulling factors of tourists into East Africa. Unlike other wildlife species, the African buffalo is a very robust one. The savanna buffaloes weigh about 500 to 910 kg, with males, normally larger than females, reaching the upper weight range. Savannah type buffalo have black or dark brown coats with age. Old bulls have whitish circles around their eyes. Females tend to have more reddish coats while the horns of an African Buffalo are very peculiar.

A characteristic feature of them is the fact that the adult bull’s horns have fused bases, forming a continuous bone shield referred to as a “boss,” which cannot always be penetrated even by a rifle bullet. From the base the horns diverge, then bend down, and then smoothly curve upwards and outwards. There are plenty of National parks and Game reserves in East Africa that have Buffaloes and these are Murchison falls, Queen Elizabeth, Nairobi, Hell’s gate, Ruaha among others.

Craters can be best described as a flat floor depression formed due to eruptions of gases from explosions and eruptions off the rocks at the surface leaving a shallow circular depression. These lakes make the region a one “stop – centre” as the tourists enjoy other attractions around such as the Mountain gorillas, chimpanzees and birds.

Can you believe there is a single district in the world gifted with more than 50 crater lakes, more than 10 rivers and the district is found in Africa to be more specific Uganda? Kabarole district is located in the western Ugandawithin the Albertine Rift valley, blessed with numerous lakes, rivers, swamps and plenty of wildlife species. This calls for a number of tourist activities in the place such as chimpanzee tracking and other primates like black and white monkeys, Olive baboons, red-tailed monkeys to mention but a few, butterfly watching, canopy walks, bird watching, wildlife tours and boat rides.

Africa Adventure Safaris is always there at your service to provide any of the above memorable safaris to your dream destination with a hand of excellence close to perfection.

The numbers of mountain gorillas are expected to increase by 26% compared to the last census in 2006 which noted 786 mountain gorillas from only 3 countries, that is Uganda, Rwanda and DRC. The efforts of the International Gorilla Conservation Program (IGCP) towards the conservation plan for the mountain gorillas, has resorted to carrying out a population census in the national parks which carry out the Gorilla Tour Packages for example Bwindi Impenetrable forest national park, Mgahinga national park and Volcanoes National park.

Africa Adventure Safaris is known for its excellence in service provision second to none when it comes to tour and travel in the whole of East Africa. The company operates Uganda Safaris, Kenya tours, Rwanda Safaris, Congo tours and Burundi tours. IGCP country representative in Uganda; Mr. Asuma Stephen reported that in the 2006 gorilla census, Bwindi Impenetrable national park had almost half of the total population.

Gorilla Trekking Safaris and wildlife tours are the most interesting adventures in a lifetime. While for those who enjoy hiking adventures, the “Mountains of the Moon” and Mount. Elgon both in Uganda, provide a remarkable experience you live to tell.
